Snow Play

when we woke up last saturday morning, there was 2 1/2 inches of snow on the ground & it continued to snow all day. on sunday afternoon, i measured again & we had right at 6 inches!! pretty good for our 1st snow of the winter! trip couldn't wait to play in it, so i drove around town on sunday after church looking for snow boots as he had outgrown the ones we had from last year. we played for a while, though quinn wasn't having so much fun... with the snow 1/2 way up his calves, it was pretty hard for him to walk around. my mom sent the boys some "snow pals" (a kit with foam cut outs to make animals out of large snow balls). we experimented with a penguin, but the snow was so light & fluffy it was hard to form it. they boys got to play in a 'snow fort' at the babysitter's house yesterday & also got rides on a pull sled.

it has been a little warmer the last day or so and the snow is melting quickly. i let them play outside this afternoon since it will probably be the last time until the next snow falls. trip & i engaged in a really fun snowball fight. b/c the snow was melting, it was very wet & you could just pick up handfuls of snow & throw it without having to pack it down into a ball. we laughed a lot & quinn even joined in a time or two. they also played on their swingset. who says you can't swing & slide just b/c it is snowy?? here are some pics & a video from our time these past few days!
